Dr. Jeffrey Popma and Dr. Renu Virmani discuss the progress made in interventional cardiology over the course of thirty years. Specifically, Dr. Virmani shares her perspectives of the evolution of interventional cardiology from the vantage viewpoint of cardiac pathologist. Dr. Virmani says that although knowledge of atherosclerosis was minimal thirty years ago, progress has been huge in terms of understanding the atherosclerotic plaque itself.
