Dr. Germano DiSciascio discusses the results of the ARMYDA-5 trial at TCT 2007. Among patients undergoing PCI, a 600 mg loading dose of clopidogrel at least 6 hours before the case was associated with improved platelet aggregometry when compared to the administration of 600 mg of clopidogrel at the time of PCI. Despite these improvements in platelet aggregometry, there was no improvement in clinical outcomes. Keywords: plavix.
Sponsorship for interviews this year at TCT 2007 was provided by the Center for Health Education (CHE) through unrestricted joint educational grants from Daiichi Sankyo Lilly, Genentech, Pfizer, Sanofi-Aventis, Schering-Plough and Scios.
